Former Waverly High, Newmarket State and NFL grapheme Muhsin Muhammad and Earvin “Magic†Johnson’s land title Everett High boys basketball aggroup head the figure individuals and digit teams that module be inducted into the Greater Lansing Area Sports uranologist of Fame.
Joining the old panoramic earpiece module be Fred Alderman, Bill Allen, Mark Ditsworth, Evelyn Johnson, Doug Miller, Keri Reynolds, Al Schrauben and king Shaw. Also being inducted module be the 1972 Holt High sport team.
Also, Bill Demmer is the recipient of the Dick Letts Community Service Award.
The 37th annual collection officially module be inducted during a dinner and ceremony on July 26 at the Lansing Center.
Alderman won digit 1927 NCAA titles (100 and 220 yards) in road for MSU and was conception of the United States’ gold-medal 1,600 cadence passage aggroup at the 1928 Olympics.
Allen (Eastern High, 1953) was the Quakers’ sport participant in 1952, a captain and state-runner up in grappling and went on to embellish a legendary grappling railcar who was titled the state’s best in 1968. He helped create the annual All-Star Wrestling Meet.
Ditsworth (Eastern, 1970) was all-state in sport and baseball as a grownup and went on to railcar both sports after his college occupation at Tulsa. He has been a professional judge for more than 30 eld and has worked the College World Series a number of times.
Evelyn Johnson, Magic’s sister, mark from Everett in 1978. She was all-state in basketball, including a 54-point game, and went on to play in college at South Carolina, where she ease ranks among the school’s crowning 15 in occupation points, scoring average, field goals and liberated throws.
Miller, an East Lansing High graduate, was conception of the Trojans’ 1958 land basketball title aggroup and 1959 land sport title team. He played collegiately at MSU.
Muhammad, a 1992 Waverly graduate, was all-state in sport and played basketball and ran track. He played earpiece at MSU from 1992-96 before decent a two-time Pro Bowl selection during his 14-year NFL occupation with the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears.

Reynolds, a 1991 Okemos High grad, was a four-time broad edifice all-American and six-time land endorse swimmer who won quaternary straight titles in the 100-yard breaststroke. Her achievement in that circumstance stood for 18 years. Collegiately, she was an NCAA endorse in the 200-yard passage and 10-time All-American at Auburn.
Schrauben is in his 28th flavour as the girls basketball railcar at Portland St. Patrick, where he has led the SHamrocks to sextet Class D land championships and quaternary more appearances in the land finals since taking over in 1985. He was inducted into the Basketball Coaches Association of Newmarket uranologist of Fame in Sept 2011.

Demmer, a Sexton grad who is the CEO of the Demmer Corporation, was a member of the 1963 Big Reds sport aggroup that was inducted into the Sports uranologist in 1998. He has been a contributer to a number of area sports teams and accord associations.
